SELECTIONS from MY ARCHIVES

(projects beyond Picturing Wanteete)

Stories from the Field: What follows is a collection of images that I have captured during my different field experiences working in the international development sector in Ecuador, Uganda, Malawi, Ghana and Nepal. People and places that I have encountered who have left a lasting impact in my heart.

Rock Of Ages: a portrait of Graniteville, Vermont, USA, home to the world's largest deep hole granite quarry, with depths plunging over six hundred feet below the water’s surface. The rock has been harvested continuously since 1885, and the main quarry forms a gaping hole with piles of “grout” or waste rock piled in people’s backyards, all around the perimeter of the hollowed-out town center. These prints are all 24x24in and were shot on medium format film.

Portraits of Place: I played a game with friends in 2010 where they blindfolded me and took me to a spot of their choosing to share a space that has taken on special significance to them and become a specific place of meaning in their lives. Through these portraits of place secret portraits of friends are revealed. These prints are all 24x24in and were shot on medium format film.
